Dear Livejournal,

I have a confession to make.

I have been cheating on you with Tumblr!

I found I had internet time again and that's the place where all the Mad Fat Diary fandom is happening! And it's a crazy place with brightly coloured things and lots of really young people and LOTS of cats, and more pictures of the kids from One Direction than I am comfortable with, but there are also some ace writers and lovely types that I have been talking to.

AND I've been writing! It's not about pilots so none of you will be bothered, but it has been SO LONG since stories have come easily to me that I was honestly worried that I had none left to tell, so I am all kinds of happy and relieved and just glad to have my fingers dancing over the keyboard again.

But being back on the web in a fannish way again makes me miss you guys loads, so I have returned, I don't know yet in what capacity, I will probably just be trolling all of your personal posts and CAPS-LOCKING about how awesome you are, but I'm sure that you won't mind...right?
Dear f-list,

I am in love with a show that none of you will have seen, but it is marvellous and brilliant and is battering my soul with its beauty and so I need to talk about it.

I couldn't believe it, there really were cool people in Lincolnshire!Collapse )

So, if anyone has seen the show, TALK TO ME! Everyone else, go watch it, and then talk to me.

So for the last few days I have felt the urge to write again, which is exciting and wonderful and brilliant and amazing, it's been over a year I think since I've really wanted to write something and I've been starting to feel like all of my creative powers have been zapped from me. It's been sad.

The problem, the big problem with my fingers' fidgety urges, is that the thing that they want me to write, the first idea I've had in yonks and yonks, is something I don't really think I want to write. My fingers and my brain are having a skirmish.

What I want to write is this pilots story I started a gazbillion years ago about friendship and love and weirdness and flight school that I ADORED and go back and look at but can't bring myself to work on.

What my fingers want me to write is an epic story about Guy of Gisborne from the BBCs ATROCIOUS 2006 adaptation of Robin Hood.

Seriously, it's rare that I have seen worse things on the television. It is poorly researched, not particularly well written, badly costumed and often ridiculous. And yet, Richard Armitage is SO good as the tortured henchman desperately seeking redemption that I had to watch all three series. (There are a few other good things too, the peripheral characters are often quite interesting, and there's the whole group dynamic of "We are Robin Hood" that I find quite compelling", but he is the thing that kept me watching). He makes everyone in every scene he is in more interesting just because they're talking to him. And so he fascinates me.

And my fingers, treacherous little beasts, are all like "write this story Lauren, tell us about Guy and what might have happened if he hadn't done that awful thing that he did that you can't talk about just in case someone wants to actually watch the show, write it, you know you want to!"

But my brain's all like, but there are way better things I could write about, also your idea is kind of cliched and a little bit lame, and also SHUT UP.

...I'm starting to think I should maybe google dual-personality disorders...

I feel like I talk about Some Kind of Wonderful a lot. But heck! I'm doing it again.

LOOK!Collapse )

And by the way, yes, this is the week where I babble incoherently about stuff and then post without reading back, sorry about that...

Is anyone watching Scandal? And if so, can you please explain to me the Cult of Olivia Pope?

Anyone?Collapse )

Also, it's been a while, does anyone feel like a catch-up question meme? Comment to this post and I will ask you a question that you do not expect to be asked. Alternatively, you can ask me questions.

So I watched The Newsroom pilot. (The, The Newsroom, pilot?)

I think I'm coming to a realisationCollapse )

So, I'm going to keep watching, for however long it lasts, god knows that with the way that critics have been writing the thing up, it aint gonna be long. I'm going to keep watching, I'm going to try and ignore the wealth of insanity that he has washed upon the women of the piece (all two of them) and try instead to focus on the talents of the women playing them. And I'm going to hope, against hope (just like Sam Beckett would have done) that the man will either get over himself in the very near future, or that someone with more power than him will start reigning him in a little bit.

Neither seems particularly likely.

A world. Of sigh.

So mizzy2k is doing this, it seemed like a fun idea. Plus I'm a copycat.

Pick a pairing and a one word prompt and I will write the kiss that goes with it.

Simple as that :)

So, I don't actually like either of them, but I kind of really want someone to write me Danny/Bo fic about how he's completely in love with her and she has no idea until he looks herin the eyes when they're singing and she realises and it's all awkward and strangge because she loves him but doesn't necessarily love him and she doesn't want anyone to think that she only got as far as she did because he wants her. It's a strange compulsion I have now.

Also I want Jessie and Tyler to JUST LOVE EACH OTHER but I don't need to read about it, it just needs to happen.
