Let yours be the doing of all good deeds...
So for the last few days I have felt the urge to write again, which is exciting and wonderful and brilliant and amazing, it's been over a year I think since I've really wanted to write something and I've been starting to feel like all of my creative powers have been zapped from me. It's been sad.

The problem, the big problem with my fingers' fidgety urges, is that the thing that they want me to write, the first idea I've had in yonks and yonks, is something I don't really think I want to write. My fingers and my brain are having a skirmish.

What I want to write is this pilots story I started a gazbillion years ago about friendship and love and weirdness and flight school that I ADORED and go back and look at but can't bring myself to work on.

What my fingers want me to write is an epic story about Guy of Gisborne from the BBCs ATROCIOUS 2006 adaptation of Robin Hood.

Seriously, it's rare that I have seen worse things on the television. It is poorly researched, not particularly well written, badly costumed and often ridiculous. And yet, Richard Armitage is SO good as the tortured henchman desperately seeking redemption that I had to watch all three series. (There are a few other good things too, the peripheral characters are often quite interesting, and there's the whole group dynamic of "We are Robin Hood" that I find quite compelling", but he is the thing that kept me watching). He makes everyone in every scene he is in more interesting just because they're talking to him. And so he fascinates me.

And my fingers, treacherous little beasts, are all like "write this story Lauren, tell us about Guy and what might have happened if he hadn't done that awful thing that he did that you can't talk about just in case someone wants to actually watch the show, write it, you know you want to!"

But my brain's all like, but there are way better things I could write about, also your idea is kind of cliched and a little bit lame, and also SHUT UP.

...I'm starting to think I should maybe google dual-personality disorders...

I think so tooooo!! However, my fingers have changed their mind and decided to start writing a play instead, and my brain is actually quite into that, so, pilots may have to wait.

I do so badly want to finish it though, it might need some new inspiration, would you maybe want to look it over and give me some thoughts? (No time pressure, obviously).
